It's unclear how - if at all - involved the Ravens were in the fight for Boldin after signing wide receiver Jeremy Maclin earlier in the offseason.
Boldin is signing a one-year contract with the Bills, NFL Network's Peter Schrager reports. Previous year with the Lions, Boldin showed he still has some juice left in the tank after posting 67 catches for 584 yards and eight touchdowns.
The next three years Boldin signed with the Baltimore Ravens, winning the Super Bowl at the end of the 2012 season. Over the weekend, discussions intensified, and Boldin made the decision to come to Buffalo to help a young receiving corps that should benefit from his experience, not to mention his talent. Rookie second-round pick Zay Jones has also seen considerable practice time with the first-team offense.
Boldin had visited the Bills on July 24, and both general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott said they were pleased with the meeting, and were hopeful something could be worked out.
Boldin is 14th in National Football League history in receiving yards with 13,779 since breaking into the National Football League in 2003, and is second to Larry Fitzgerald (14,389) of the Arizona Cardinals among active players. I've been a big Anquan fan from afar. Even if I had the likes of Jerry Rice or guys like that.to get an Anquan is an addition.
Playing for Arizona, Baltimore, San Francisco and Detroit, he has had seven 1,000-yard seasons - most recently in 2014, when he had 1,062 yards for the 49ers - and is a three-time Pro Bowl selection.
