Alia, Karan promote Akshay Kumar's 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha'

"Toilet Ek Prem Katha" which stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the leading roles tackles an important issue of sanitation and supports Narendra Modi headed "Swach Bharat Abhiyaan".

The film started off on a slow note with its occupancy ranging around 20-50% on its first day. Stay tuned with us for more updates and box office report, you can share your views with us on the box office collection and performance of "Toilet Ek Prem Katha" in the comment section below. But bad reviews not withstanding Toilet: Ek Prem Katha's opening has been considerably lower than that of Jab Harry Met Sejal, which opened at Rs 15.5 crore, highest in a love story genre, obviously driven by King Khan's star power.

The film has released in 2900- 3000 screens in India and 590 screens in overseas. It minted over Rs. 13 crore on its opening day. It was released on Friday. The lack of completion, debacle of last week's big release Jab Harry Met Sejal and a great word of mouth has helped the film immensely. And the first day of the movie Toilet went awesome in each theatre, which collected a huge amount for the movie in the box office.

With this we can expect "Toilet - Ek Prem Katha" to mint good money at the box office. India business. Saturday and Sunday look better.

Shree Narayan Singh's directorial Toilet: Ek Prem Katha released worldwide yesterday, i.e. on August 11, 2017. It will also benefit from the long Independence Day extended holiday.

The film follows the story of a newly Wednesday couple played by Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar who live in a small town.
