Samsung's progress has been slowed by the postponement of a USA launch of the English-language version of Bixby, the Wall Street Journal reported. The Echo has captured over 70% of the market for voice activated speakers and Google Home has around 24%.
Remember, Samsung was supposed to launch a full version of Bixby's voice features in the USA by springtime, but that obviously didn't happen. It means that the company shall be taking enough time before coming up with the Bixby speaker.
Well, let's hope Bixby english version to launch soon.
A new report from The Wall Street Journal claims Samsung is working on its own voice-controlled home speaker to compete with the likes of the Amazon Echo, Google Home, and other devices that will be launched over the next few months and years.
The Bixby assistant, which was launched alongside the Samsung Galaxy S8 range, is still awaiting a full roll out in the United Kingdom and the US. The firm originally said the English-language Bixby would be complete - with full voice support - by the Spring, but one source stated that it's unlikely to be ready until the end of July. It was earlier tipped to be working on the project codenamed Hive in March 2005, but it was reportedly shelved due to a software issue with the voice recognition technology.
