Dow closes at record as Target's outlook lifts retail shares

USA stocks and bonds rallied Friday, with both the S&P 500 Index and Dow Jones Industrial Average reaching new highs, as us inflation data came in short of Federal Reserve expectations, spotlighting the concerns of some central bankers about additional interest rate hikes.

Twenty-nine of 30 index members finished with gains, led by a 2.8% rise in DuPont (NYSE: DD).

"Armenpress" reports the value of Dow Jones up by 0.10% to 21553.09 points, S&P 500 up by 0.19% to 2447.83 points, Nasdaq up by 0.21% to 6274.44 points.

Online payment company Paypal was among the winners, rising more than 3%, after it announced customers would be able to use PayPal on Apple products.

US stocks opened flat on Friday as investors digested a mixed batch of quarterly earnings out of a trio of major banks.

Bank of America shares fell about 1%, while Citigroup edged up 0.2%.
