Sekulow joined Trump's personal legal team, which includes Marc Kasowitz, Trump's go-to lawyer for years on both personal and business matters; Mark Bowe, who works with Kasowitz; and newly hired John Dowd, a well-known DC-based attorney. He says that President Donald Trump, Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and Democratic lawmakers should not be presuming an outcome.
"The president has not been and is not under investigation", said attorney Jay Sekulow on a number of morning talk shows.
Sekulow says that Trump hasn't been notified of any investigation.
But on Sunday he was given a tall task: communicating the message that President Trump is not actually under investigation, even as the president tweeted Friday, "I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!"
America is edging ever closer to a new long, national nightmare, given President Donald Trump's explosive response to signs that special counsel Robert Mueller is approaching the epicenter of White House power.
"The President is attacking Bob Mueller, and therefore Newt Gingrich is attacking Bob Mueller", Schiff said.
Trump insists his campaign had nothing to do with Russian efforts to undermine credibility in the USA election.
"I'm just one lawyer", Sekulow said. Trump took to Twitter to confirm that the FBI was investigating him and termed it a witch hunt stating that he was being investigated by the man who told him to fire Comey.
Spicer also provided little guidance about whether Trump has Oval Office recordings of his conversations with Comey - a possibility that Trump had raised in a tweet last month.
"The best thing that could happen for the president, and the country, is a full and credible investigation", Rubio said on CNN's State of the Union, adding that he has "no reason" to doubt Mueller and his investigation.
He spoke on ABC's "This Week".
Donald Trump surprised many of his Twitter followers last Friday when the president came out and admitted that he's under a federal investigation in the fallout of Russian meddling in the presidential election and whether Trump's campaign played a role in it.
Jay Sekulow, a longtime lawyer for the Christian Right, only very recently became a member of President Trump's legal team.
You have to wonder just what "anonymous sources" the Washington Post relied on to publish this bit of fake news. "And if President Trump were to fire Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, and then got special counsel Mueller fired, I believe Congress would begin impeachment proceedings".
Should Rosenstein decide to recuse himself, Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand would take over for him as far as having authority over the special counsel, whether it continues to be Mueller or not.
Sekulow then covered his tracks saying his statement was in regards to if there was an investigation, that it would not be constitutional, and then continued with his stance that there is no investigation.
