On Friday, Trump said Comey's testimony proved there was "no collusion, no obstruction" and that Comey is "a leaker".

Trump's attorney also criticized Comey's leaking of details about his talk with Trump, calling it an "unauthorized disclosure of privileged information".

Trump concluded the morning tweets with an attack on Democrats, calling them "obstructionists".

"Frankly, James Comey confirmed a lot of what I said".

Republicans are expressing growing concern that President Trump's voluble communication style is becoming a liability that could get him into trouble at a time when controversy swirls around the White House.

During his under-oath testimony, Comey's "Lordy!"

Trump Jr. also told Pirro that Comey's testimony "vindicated" his father and proved that the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director is "a liar".

Trump had raised the possibility that his conversations with Comey were recorded in a May 12 tweet he sent several days after he fired him.

In a press conference on Friday.

When a reporter asked about Comey, Trump again said he never asked for the Justice Department's Russian Federation probe to be dropped - an act that experts say could constitute an obstruction of justice. And then the nature of the person: "I was honestly concerned that he might lie about the nature of our meeting, so I thought it important to document". "I'm not saying it's an acceptable excuse". Trump said that he "did not say that", but "there would be nothing wrong if I had".

Former FBI Director James Comey testified on the Trump-Russia probe at the US Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday. He is a good guy.

"The president never, in form or substance, directed or suggested that Mr. Comey stop investigating anyone, including suggesting that Mr. Comey 'let Flynn go, '" Kasowitz wrote. "We were also aware of facts that I can't discuss in an open setting that would make his continued engagement in a Russia-related investigation problematic".

But there is no known evidence of collusion between Russian Federation and the USA, and President Donald Trump has dismissed the story as "fake news". However, Comey didn't say that the president's words were part of an effort to obstruct his investigation.

"Oh you're going to be very disappointed when you hear the answer, don't worry", he added, .

But Donald Trump refused to say whether his private conversations with the fired FBI Director were taped - an issue at the centre of conflicting accounts of what passed between them.

"I think he's proven himself to be a dishonest man of bad character", Trump Jr. said.
