Get Ready to Shop: Amazon Schedules Prime Day For July 11

Amazon launched Prime Day Sale in 2015 to mark its 20 anniversary. The shopping event is open only to members of the company's Prime fast-shipping program.

As is Amazon's wont, they're extending the sale to last even longer in the same way that Black Friday started as a day of sales but then spread to a weekend including Cyber Monday and finally past year we saw "Black Friday Week" deals as retailers spread the strain on their logistic operations and realised that punters would spend spend spend for as long as the were fed the deals.

The third annual Amazon Prime Day will be July 11, 2017, and this year, Amazon is extending the event to 30 hours of deal-fueled shopping. The sale will see products from multiple brands on discount and while some of the names have been revealed by Amazon India, more will be disclosed as the sale date approaches. Amazon says six latest Indian and worldwide blockbusters will be streamed over six days from July 5.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2017? You can save 60% off a six month Audible subscription or save 50% off Prime phones, such as the new Alcatel models or Blu. However, on initially signing up, Amazon India offers a 30-day free trial period.

What we do not know yet if Amazon is again releasing the most coveted Prime Day deals without a schedule.

Amazon Family runs at the same annual rate of £79, but this plan allows two adults and four children to register with one account to access all Prime benefits. New subscribers can even take advantage of Prime's 30-day free trial during the Prime Day promotion.

The Prime Day line-up for video is like this: Star Trek - Beyond on July 5, Deepwater Horizon on July 6 Baahubali: The Lost Legends Episode 9 on July 7, Sully on July 8, comedy special Haq Se Single on July 9. The price is expected to go up to Rs 999 from the next year. But Prime Day 2016 was beleaguered by some technical difficulties when some customers found it hard to add certain deals to their shopping carts. There will also be no minimum order value.

Some deals will last all day, others will be super speedy Lightning deals that will be available for an hour or two, or until they're sold out. The Prime Day line-up includes Star Trek-Beyond and Baahubali: The Lost Legends, among others.

For investors, the day also marks a buying opportunity, according to Deutsche Bank analyst Lloyd Walmsley.

Amazon noted that several deals will start Thursday, June 29.

You will get an additional 15 percent cash back if you pay with an HDFC card. As for the sales, there were a few decent deals, but critics and shoppers largely agreed the day was a bust compared to the holidays. It also claims to have increased the number of products under Prime by 70% to 2 million since the launch of the programme in July a year ago. It will also show a teaser for series 2 of The Grand Tour to Prime members on the day. Members can preview, track, and shop deals while at home or on-the-go, with deal alerts on the Amazon App.

"Every side of our business is working to deliver more deals for a record number of shoppers", Greg Greeley, vice president Amazon Prime, said in a statement. "This year's Prime Day is too big for 24 hours - so we're giving Prime members 30 hours to shop!".
