YouTube Is Officially In The Live TV Game Now

Google is also giving away a Chromecast device which connects to a TV and helps viewers stream online content. The good news for those who are interested is that it appears that YouTube TV is now live.

You can learn more at tv.youtube.com/welcome and subscribe through Google Play or the App Store. Though six, personalized accounts are included in each YouTube TV subscription (meaning those memberships can be shared), the service now supports three simultaneous streams per household/subscription.

Each YouTube TV membership allows for six accounts to allow sharing between family and roommates, and those accounts each receive their own unique recommendations and cloud DVR with no storage limits. Other channels, like Sundance Now and Shudder, will also be available soon for an additional fee. Some notable ones include Fox Sports, FX, Disney Channel, ESPN U, ESPN News, Disney Junior, XD, MSNBC, Universal, and the exclusive Youtube Red Originals.

With YouTube TV you can either watch live TV or record shows, movies and more to watch later.

"This is such a new marketplace", says YouTube vp content partnerships Kelly Merryman.

While YouTube TV was announced with plenty of key details along with it, including the $35 per month price, what we didn't know was when exactly it would launch and where it would be available.

YouTube TV follows in the footsteps of other so-called "skinny bundles" - bundles that let you watch live TV from a phone, tablet, web browser or set-top box without a pay TV box or subscription - from Sling TV, PlayStation Vue and DirecTV Now. Earlier today, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago became the first cities to have the YouTube TV service.

Video consumption in India has grown at a massive pace, especially after the launch of free data services by telecom operator Reliance Jio under its promotional offers. Are you waiting for the service to debut in your city? Even if you already have a HDMI stick at home, you can use this one for another television in your household.

YouTube TV also comes with unlimited cloud DVR that will store shows for up to nine months.
