Weather: Wind advisory issued for Willamette Valley

The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a High Wind Watch, which is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday evening. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 a.m., according to the weather service. New precipitation between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Winds through western Solano County, including Benicia, Vallejo, Fairfield and Suisun City, are forecast between 21 and 29 miles per hour and gusts reaching 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

Saturday Night: Overnight lows will drop down into the mid 60's, with a very mild, humid night in store.

Thursday: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 66.

UPDATE 9 AM, 4/6: There is one more band of showers and storms near west of Roanoke, moving east as cells along it move north-northeast.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low at 34.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers.

Saturday will also be sunny, but wear a jacket and carry a blanket to the ball fields for your kids Saturday morning game.

SATURDAY: Partly cloudy. Low: 61.

Thursday Night: Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots. Tuesday night, a chance of showers. Conditions will be mostly cloudy with a high near 71.

Partly sunny Wednesday, with a high near 66. Those areas are under a Wind Advisory from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday, when the High Wind Warning takes effect. The low will be around 51. That night will grow to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 65.
