Warriors not overlooking Blazers in 1st round

Lillard could have a big game, but he doesn't have the supporting cast he needs to play competitively in this series, especially in games at Golden State.

Nurkić played at least one game with the non-displaced fracture, going for 19 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in 32 minutes in a 117-107 victory versus the Houston Rockets on March 30. So the veteran didn't flinch with the clock ticking down and the game tied.

BONUS: Portland forward Maurice Harkless was in an unusual position because his contract paid him a $500,000 bonus if he finished the regular season making 35 per cent of his 3-pointers.

It paid off when Johnson drove the lane and hit a floater at the buzzer, giving the Jazz a 97-95 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers after Utah lost Rudy Gobert 17 seconds into their playoff opener on Saturday night. "I foresee the game probably being a smaller game if he doesn't play, whereas if he plays it turns into a bigger game", Golden State's Draymond Green said following practice on Friday. He was great all night tonight, switching out when necessary, defending the rim (Clippers were five of 10 down there with Favors defending) and keeping the DeAndre Jordan pick and rolls in check.

"We're not going into the playoffs saying, 'Hey we made it, let's bow out gracefully and be happy with what we did, '" Lillard told reporters Tuesday. Their offense should continue to pile up points quickly, especially against this Portland team that wasn't among the best defensively in the National Basketball Association.

"That's what he's been doing all his career", Utah's Boris Diaw said. "At the end of the day, the ball is what we have to stop".

The 67-win Warriors dispatched the Trail Blazers four straight times during the regular season, winning twice by 23 or more points and once at Portland without Stephen Curry. In this "Last time they met" series, we're going to look at the current National Basketball Association playoff matchups and review the last time these two teams met in the playoffs. And it's worth noting that Paul's shot wasn't a wide-open look, but rather a drive into traffic; he may well have gotten just as good of a look if he'd waited a few more seconds.

The Jazz didn't call a timeout. "I just want to give them back something". The only way the Warriors run into trouble (and this has been true for most of the season) is if their shooters don't get going. The No. 5 seed past year, they slid to No. 8 in 2017, barely sliding into the playoffs at 41-41.

W's in 4. Hard to see the Blazers having enough defense to slow down GSW and manufacture enough offense (outside of Dame/CJ) vs the best defensive team in the league.

"The main focus is health, and KD getting his legs back and relatively healthy, so that's a good start for him", key backup David West said.

Do the Warriors 3-point shooters show up?
