Software version number 4.27.651.4 is being rolled out by Sprint for the HTC One M9.
Each week, we round up all the major software updates to hit the Android ecosystem, including phones and tablets on USA carriers, unlocked phones, smartwatches, and Android TV devices. If you are a Sprint customer with the HTC One M9, keep your eyes peeled for the notification that tells you Android 7.0 has arrived on your handset.
To check your Note 5 or S6 edge+ for updates, go into Settings About phone Software update Check for updates. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ receives the same Android Nougat experience that's been gracing its smaller siblings, while the Galaxy Note 5 gets more than a few tweaks to accommodate its S-Pen, including some new tricks. A screenshot showing off the System update information related to the update was disseminated via tweet, apparently by a Sprint subscriber whose One M9 received the 1.02GB update OTA. Neither device has seen an update since February, so even if the new features in Nougat don't excite you, the included monthly security patches should at least make you a bit more comfortable. While the Sprint update page doesn't quite detail it yet, Android Police says numerous users are reporting the download is hitting their phone. You need to back up your files in case they get erased in the update. The OS weighs about 1GB and like the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+, it is coming over the air. The carrier later came in with the same treat for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, with AT&T joining the party with an update to the Note 5 and S6 Edge+.
