Samsung's Galaxy S8 to launch without Bixby assistant

Expected to feature the latest technology advancements, the new smartphone is also reportedly coming out incomplete since Bixby, the newest virtual assistant is not able to make it to the April 21 launch of Galaxy S8. Samsung said in a statement that the full version of the feature will roll out at a later time. Samsung did not immediately respond to a request for comment. If you are pre-ordering the phone in South Korea, Samsung will bundle the Samsung Dex docking station, a Bluetooth speaker and a year's warranty for repairs. It has been working to restore its reputation since the Note 7's withdrawal last October after just two months on the market, which cost it the equivalent of five billion euros in profit.

The latest photo leak of an alleged Samsung Galaxy Note 8 prototype has recently surfaced and it hinted at three things: a bigger screen, the newly-launched smart assistant Bixby and an S Pen on the side. Its voice recognition in English apparently lags its Korean language capabilities substantially.

Samsung's mobile business chief Koh Dong-jin introduce Galaxy S8. "The S8 runs on Android Nougat, which has Google Assistant built in as standard". Samsung's answer to Apple's Siri and Google Assistant, Bixby, was also demonstrated, as well as the Samsung Dex, a dock that transforms the Galaxy S8 into a PC.

"If Samsung's successful with its execution and broadens Bixby's scope as announced, it'll be an engagement tool for a broad range of devices, regardless of the operating system they run", he added. It is now set to launch in India on April 19, as reports suggests. Samsung today said that it's postponing the launch of Bixby. The device can also supposedly fold by itself.

The buzz around Samsung has already changed.

The company has been heavily promoting the new AI secretary, developed by Viv Labs, an American start-up founded by Siri creators that Samsung acquired previous year, as being able to offer a range of innovative services with voice and image recognition capabilities.

The good news is that those messages seem to be trickling in, so if you're expecting one but haven't received it yet, keep an eye out.

Samsung said earlier this week that its pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 are better than those for its previous phones. The device might nearly have no bezel.
