Pederson, Dodgers hit team-mark 4 HRs in opener, rout Padres

It followed an offseason with a relatively weak free-agent class in which just one player topped $100 million — New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. We have touched on prospects, high-variance youngsters, and even the steady veterans who are needed to guide their team through the 162-game beast of a regular season.
