The rocket ship icon is actually a second Facebok's New Feed that the social media website is now experimenting on mobile platforms through its app.
Did you get a golden ticket to the new Facebook icon?
According to Mashable, users in Croatia have noticed the function on their app and some users in the United Kingdom have started to see the feature pop up on their apps so it should only be a matter of time before Irish users start seeing it.
However, many confused users have taken to social media questioning the addition of the rocket ship icon.
While the earlier testing was reportedly limited to Android beta, the new feed is being tested at a larger scale and with more mobile platforms.
Mashable has contacted Facebook for more details on this new feature and will update the post when we hear back from them. The content may also be items that are popular with the user's friends. It is unclear if this new section will become a permanent fixture or if Facebook is merely testing it out and that it won't make the final cut, but we guess we'll just have to wait and see.
It is also said to bring up content relevant to location, stories based on the user's "liked" pages and interests. However, there's no guarantee that the feature will ever roll out globally.
