Bulls early surprise of playoffs after taking 2 at Boston

Sideshow Rob's enigmatic-as-ever Chicago Bulls team now finds themselves up two games on the Eastern Conference's #1 overall seed with the series headed back to Chicago, and Robin Lopez himself has established a presence as the team's X-Factor in their matchup with Boston.

Smart has won over fans with his hard-nosed play, but flipping the bird to a Celtics fan isn't going to help with the player's critics.

Following Tuesday's loss, the Celtics are now down 2-0 to the Bulls with Game 3 scheduled for Friday night (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) at United Center.

Smart's gesture came after he missed a three-pointer with the Bulls up by 14 points in a game in which the Celtics, the top-seeded team in the Eastern Conference, were booed periodically by their home fans.

Isaiah Thomas scored 20 points for Boston.

Six Bulls finished in double figures, with Robin Lopez scoring 18, Paul Zipser 16 off the bench and Nikola Mirotic 13. So there's some guys that can do that, and we're fortunate to have one of them. "I got to my spot and let it go".

Thomas was again unavailable to the media after the game.

"It's not ideal for us", Crowder said.
