No Stay on Jio Free Offer,Telecom Tribunal TDSAT Asks TRAI For Re-Examination

Meanwhile, incumbent telecom operator Airtel is offering its postpaid customers an additional 30 GB free data with a 10 GB per month limit.

A customer can buy the data pack for just Rs 339 without any special membership, as it has to be done while acquiring Jio connection, to avail 2GB data and unlimited calls to BSNL network.

Reliance Jio is offering 1GB of 4G data per day and unlimited calling to all network for free till March 31.

However, it should be noted that the data is 3G and not 4G.

The biggest network of the country is no mood to give up and launched an equally exciting offer of Rs. 345 under which users will get unlimited calling and 1 GB data daily (500 MB daytime, and 500 MB night time) for 28 days.

Airtel's "surprise" offer is similar to what Vodafone offered late a year ago, providing 10GB of data at the price of 1GB. This seems more like a strategy to combat Reliance Jio.

Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular moved TDSAT this year, questioning the telecom regulator's clean chit to Reliance Jio's "predatory" pricing. After downloading the Airtel My App, clicking on the pop-up message to claim the offer.

Airtel has announced that it will be providing its postpaid users with 30GB of free data for a period of three months, starting March 13.

Even Vodafone launched a new plan that offers unlimited calls/SMS + 1GB 4G data/day at Rs 346/month. The data of 2GB per day is one of the best in the industry.

The telecom disputes settlement appellate and Tribunal (TDSAT), the telecom tribunal on Thursday asked the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India to re-examine its nod to Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio's free promotional services offer. Therefore, from second month onwards, subscribers can use 20GB - 10GB of the previous month and 10GB of the ongoing month.
