Dave Chappelle has been absent from the comedy scene for a very long time, but fans won't have to wait much longer for new material.
The voice behind that statement was unmistakably that of actor/comedian/writer Dave Chappelle, who will be making quite a splash within the internet media streaming scene when he makes his Netflix debut later this month with two comedy specials. One, The Age of Spin, was filmed in March 2016 and the other, Deep in the Heart of Texas, in April 2015. Chappelle talks about everything from race - "You know what kills black people more than anything, more than police and terrorism?" Now that the March 21 release date is almost upon us, Netflix has shared a more fleshed-out trailer to get us excited.
Netflix will be simultaneously releasing two Chappelle stand-up specials next Tuesday. He talks about watching ISIS videos on YouTube ("Don't like") and meeting O.J. Simpson in the '90s with Nicole Brown Simpson (and it gets as dark as you can imagine).
Pulled from Chappelle's own vault, the two comedy specials were directed by Stan Lathan, the director on 2004's Dave Chappelle: For What It's Worth special.
