It is needful that you alert your congregation about the homosexual content in Disney's re-make of Beauty and the Beast - a film scheduled for screening during the March school holidays.

The film's "gay moment", as described by Condon, has become a source of controversy as the film is set for release worldwide.

The Walt Disney Co film has courted controversy after the director, Bill Condon, first announced that it would feature a gay character - LeFou, the goofy sidekick to main villain Gaston - for the first time in Disney's history.

Watson also insisted that the character wear boots, and not the flat shoes that Belle wore in the animated film. "There are other gay characters in stories, too, like Dumbledore".

The film was dedicated to Howard Ashman, who provided lyrics to songs in both Beauty And The Beast and The Little Mermaid. In interesting coincidences, Emma Watson was actually born in France, and Ewan McGregor's wife is French. "The original of Beauty and the Beast was released in 1992 and now its 2017 and things have moved on from then", the 26-year-old smiled.
