Balotelli accuses French fans of racial abuse

Is it normal that Bastia supporters make monkey noises and "uh uh" for the whole game? "So is racism legal in France?" Or only in Bastia? Football is an incredible sport.

"Football is an incredible sport but people like Bastia supporters make it frightful".

OGC Nice retweeted Balotelli's account on its Twitter page in a post that was shared more than 7,500 times.

Ligue 1 officials have said they will investigate Balotelli's claims. Balotelli wrote, referencing the LFP's disciplinary committee.

Commentators from local broadcasters who were covering the match made no reference of the racial abuse.

Bastia did not respond to an email from Reuters. A meeting marked by racist incidents: in fact, while he warmed up with his teammates of the GYM, cries of monkey were pronounced against Mario Balotelli.

In 2013, after being racially abused by Roma fans while playing for AC Milan, Balotelli said that if it happened again then he would leave the field.

Italian striker Mario Balotelli slammed Bastia fans and accused them of making "monkey" chants throughout Friday's 1-1 draw against Ligue 1 leaders Nice in Corsica.

Balotelli has been looking more like his former self in France, scoring ten goals in fifteen appearances in all competitions.

Their stay at the top could be short-lived, however, as Nice will slip back to second should Monaco beat Lorient on Sunday, while Paris Saint-Germain can move within a point with victory over Nantes later on Saturday.
