They should even be able to play Crysis 2.

The planned version of Windows 10 on ARM devices is more advanced than Windows RT. Technology that is being built through Evo includes far-field speech communications systems that will make Microsoft's Cortana digital assistant more robust.

Plus, it won't be necessary to buy special versions of Windows apps. It appeared in October of 2012 on the Surface RT tablet, but the platform received generally negative feedback because customers couldn't run the same apps and programs they could use on systems based on Intel and AMD. It also made it easier for software developers to target multiple CPU architectures. As a reminder, Intel and Microsoft are also working on Project Alloy. It also could not run Win32 desktop apps, severely limiting the number of available apps to only those using WinRT and distributed through the Windows Store.

The above video shows Windows on ARM. Supporting full compatibility with the Windows 10 ecosystem, the Snapdragon processor is designed to enable Windows hardware developers to create next generation device form factors, providing mobility to cloud computing.

While Intel dominates on desktops and laptops, the competing ARM architecture rules mobile devices.

Also included in OneCore UAP is Universal Windows Platform (UWP).

This means that for the first time in about 15 years, full Windows will run on non-Intel-compatible processors. They would potentially be able to run full desktop apps such as Photoshop, Word, and other Win32 apps on Continuum from the Surface Phone which will enable them to turn their phone into a real PC. This alone is a huge change from Windows RT, which would only work with a small subset of peripherals.

"What you're going to start seeing in the next 12 to 18 months is that a lot of these devices, such as 3Glasses' S1, will start becoming available for consumers to buy and take home", Microsoft HoloLens creator Alex Kipman said. Executive Vice President Terry Myserson says this new partnership will allow new devices to showcase improvements to features for Cortana, Windows Hello and more.

As noted earlier, Microsoft is not after toppling the likes of Apple and Samsung in the smartphone industry, rather, the company wants to close the gap that has always existed between smartphones, tablets and PCs using its new all-in-one Windows 10 OS.

Another integral part of Windows 10's future and the Cellular PCs would be connectivity - and Microsoft is investing highly in that sector, too.

It remains to be seen just how the Windows 10 VR experience will be and what more it will entail, but it won't be like HoloLens.
