Liverpool forward Firmino arrested on drink driving charge

Liverpool and Brazil attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino has been charged with drunk driving after the footballer was arrested in Merseyside during the Christmas festivities, regional police said.

The Brazil worldwide is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on 31 January.

Roberto Firmino has been charged with drink-driving after he was stopped in Liverpool on Christmas Eve. I was adapted to European football after playing in Germany for three years but English football is very different to the Bundesliga.

Merseyside police have confirmed the Brazilian was pulled over in the early hours of Saturday morning and faces a court case in 2017.

The 25-year-old was stopped in Liverpool and arrested in the early hours on December 24th.

Merseyside Police confirmed that the Brazil global will make a court appearance on the final day of the year - just a few hours before the Reds take on Premier League leaders Chelsea at Anfield.
