"This was caused by an error in one of our systems and the posts have now been restored".
He wrote: "Only a very small amount is fake news and hoaxes".
A Facebook spokesperson told The Verge that the removal of Zuckerberg's posts was accidental.
"These posts were removed by mistake", a Facebook spokesperson said.
It seems odd that two specific posts related to the election would accidentally be removed while others from around the same time were intact.
During the election campaign, Facebook had been accused of doing too little to prevent false news stories from spreading on the social media network. Mark's account was not compromised, and he maintains what he wrote.
On November 19th, Zuckerberg published another update to his timeline outlining the company's plan to combat fake news by listing a series of improvements (stronger detection of hoaxes, better reporting tools, warnings for articles flagged as false, etc.) that Facebook is actively working on. When you clicked on it, an error page appeared, indicating that the page was not available, that the link was broken (it was not), or that the page might have been deleted.
Earlier in November, a virus resulted in the site posting memorial messages about user profile pages, including Zuckerberg, declaring they had died.
Facebook is increasingly becoming everyone's choice for news and other information but low standards and Mark Zuckerberg's stance had let in many websites that lack factual basis on certain reports that use images to attract attention and relay messages.
"We need to be careful not to discourage sharing of opinions or mistakenly restricting accurate content". "We do not want to be arbiters of truth ourselves, but instead rely on our community and trusted third parties".
