CHEERLEADERS from Bolton are the latest group to get involved with an internet craze sweeping the world.
The video has been viewed tens of thousands of times since it was first posted on Facebook last week (13 November 2016).
Detroit Fire Department Squad 5 and Medic 18 at Livernois and Curtis recently recorded themselves taking the "mannequin challenge". Since the original video was shared, a number of professional athletes, musicians and other celebrities have taken part in the social media trend. As the camera makes it's way around the room in the:53 second video clip inmates can be seen in fighting poses, working out, reading and all together in a prayer circle. It shows at least 30 prisoners - in white Alabama Department of Corrections uniforms - in various frozen-in-time poses. Corrections officers have confiscated some 3,000 illegal phones since January, Horton said. During the riots, inmates made a video-call to the media and claimed the protests were in response to prison overcrowding and inhumane living conditions. Several sports teams have also uploaded their versions of the challenge, including NFLs Dallas Cowboys and German football team Borussia Dortmund.
