After 'Dear Zindagi' release, Alia now misses Shahrukh

On social media Shah Rukh expressed his appreciation for "the love this small film is getting" and his pride at being part of Gauri and Alia's journey. So will Alia prove lucky for SRK? Reportedly, the satellite rights of Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt's film have been sold for Rs 25 cr and the music rights have been sold for Rs 10 cr.

She cringes at the very mention of Goa where her parents live as she does not enjoy a great relationship with them.

Dear Zindagi has managed to do well during weekdays after showing a stupendous performance during the weekend. Where she relives her childhood injury, she's just wonderful in her first consultation scene with Shah Rukh Khan and also in the scene. She obviously doesn't care what we think of hera or does she? There's romance, but it's peripheral, and Kaira largely eschews it because she doesn't feel any emotional attachment. It's about an older man and a younger woman. I really believe that I may not learn too much from one film but I will learn one thing, which I will take away and it will be really, really close to my heart.

The other supporting cast do not have background and are not explored - be it Kaira's boyfriends Raghuvendra (Kunal Kapoor), Sid (Angad Bedi) and Rumi (Ali Zafar) or the protagonist's friends Fatima (Ira Dubey) and Jackie (Yashaswini Dayama).

Directed by Gauri Shinde, Dear Zindagi had opened up with excellent figures at the box office. Nonetheless, that doesn't mean Dear Zindagi is a weak attempt.

Q. In real life, have there been moments where you went through ups and downs? The final meeting of Alia and SRK is an example of brilliant writing and execution.

Amit Trivedi's music too fails to make an impact and is nearly lost. It's a normal story of a few ups and a few downs of life. The successive rate indicated a good opportunity for SRK who didn't experienced this much increment with past films.

Shah Rukh Khan as Dr. Jehangir Khan aka Jug, the "Dimaag-ka-Doctor", lights up the screen with his charisma and persona, in an immensely likeable character he portrays, but has limited scope. Shah Rukh's last release was Maneesh Sharma's Fan. The Gulf News review concluded "If you are looking for a heartwarming, sensitive film about troubled twenty-somethings, then make a date with Dear Zindagi".
