Netflix now available in South Africa

Netflix is expanding into 130 new countries on Wednesday, making its global reach almost complete save a few key markets, Chief Reed Hastings said.

Additionally, due to government restrictions on American companies, Netflix will not be available in Crimea, North Korea and Syria. Comments will appear on the live site as soon as they are approved by the moderator (within 24 hours).

Netflix, which has been spending aggressively to expand globally, has said it planned to "run around break-even through 2016" and then deliver profits.

It seems that Netflix really has taken over the world - with the exception of four countries.

Hastings also reiterated Netflix's intention to continue pushing hard into original series.

It's likely that all Netflix content would have to be vetted before it could be made available in the country. However, it will have the Arabic, Korean, and Chinese languages offered in addition to the 17 languages presently available, according to Empowered News.

"From today onwards, we will listen and we will learn, gradually adding more languages, more content and more ways for people to engage with Netflix", Hastings added.

For one monthly fee users can access the service on any device that has an internet connection.

"Netflix is entering India at the right time", said analyst Tarun Pathak at Counterpoint Technology Research. The streaming company boasts of 70 million subscribers worldwide.
