Houston Texans sign tackle Devon Still to future contract

LeBron James had a special fan in Washington on Wednesday night watching the Cleveland Cavaliers' victory over the Wizards.

Still, a former second-round pick out of Penn State, where he was an All-American, has not played in the National Football League since being released by Cincinnati in the final wave of cuts prior to the 2015 season.

"I just signed a contract to get back to doing what I love".

James and Still, the daughter of National Football League defensive end Devon Still, have had an ongoing friendship since the pair first met last season at another game.

Still was a defensive tackle for the Bengals when his daughter, Leah, was diagnosed with stage 5 neuroblastoma, a very rare pediatric cancer, on June 2, 2014, during training camp.

"I knew she was going to be there tonight, and she and Zhuri, my baby girl, are my two favorite women in the world".

The youngster has battled cancer for the past year, and her Houston Texans player dad recently took to Twitter to celebrate her last treatment.

Even though Devon couldn't make it, Leah was still present for the game.

He continued: "Just her strength and her courage and what she's been through over the last few years, man, it's uplifting to all of us, and it's always great seeing her, for sure".
