The 4C's audio system gets a boost as well, with new standard "premium" speakers and an Alpine audio system, replacing the inscrutable Parrot audio head unit we found tricky to use in early 4Cs. It comes with Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, a USB port, an iPod interface, CD/MP3 capabilities, and access to HD radio and satellite radio. The coupe adds a lockable console with leather storage, and the Spider gets a higher quality alarm system.
Customers can also choose the optional Track package which includes high-performance shock absorbers with larger front- and rear-sway bars, and available bespoke Pirelli P-Zero tires among others. It will have dual center-mounted tips with a carbon fiber surround. The 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C is on sale now.
Alfa Romeo has revealed the 2016 4C and 4C Spider, bringing minor updates and more options to the enthusiastic lightweight. It continues to produce 177kW and 350Nm, which is sent through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive. In coupe form it weighs just 1025kg, and the Spider adds 10kg to that. The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider also gains a new "carbon fiber halo" that highlights the car's carbon fiber monocoque chassis and carbon fiber windshield frame.
The Carbon Fiber package brings the lightweight material on the shift paddles, instrument panel, vent surrounds and instrument cluster surround. The titanium exhaust system features an electronically controlled valve that allows a quieter operation when desired and a sporty sound when the DNA switch is put in the more performance-oriented modes. It's connected up to the on-board drive mode select toggle, providing either a barking soundtrack or a more reserved tone in Natural and All-weather driving modes.
The optional equipment list also features new premium leather for the interior in the Tobacco and Black combination, now available with Tobacco accent stitching.
