Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL Windows 10 Smartphone Announced

The Alcatel Pixi 3 is an 8-inch tablet that runs Windows 10 Mobile. Only three, you say, but those are T-Mobile’s LTE bands in the USA, where the Fierce XL is headed.

Then, Microsoft botched the first update to the OS, with users reporting various problems with the update, including that the update was not being offered, that the update got stuck at 0 percent, that the phone was reporting low storage, and that apps couldn't be downloaded. Alcatel OneTouch has future plans for what it's referring to as a Windows 10 "superphone", created to take on the major high-end flagships on the market. Alcatel also discussed some accessories for the device. A 3.5-inched variant is also launched though we're not sure why.

British customers looking to get their hands on the device may be in for a long wait, however, as the FierceXL is initially set to be a U.S. exclusive thanks to Alcatel's close relationship with American network T-Mobile, which will be the sole supplier.

There's not a great deal going on with the design of the phone here. The Chinese firm is anticipated to reveal the details regarding the pricing of the new OneTouch Fierce XL on release. It has a clean and pebble-like rounded shape. The smartphone will only come in Blue colour option.

The Fierce XL is what you'd expect a budget smartphone to be. The firm said 43.3 percent of those smartphone owners used iPhones while just 2.8 percent (or around 5.3 million people) used Windows phones. This can be expanded with up to 32GB more.

The main camera is an 8MP unit and the front is a 2MP unit. The affordably priced Fierce XL with Windows 10 offers consumers more of the popular Microsoft Office Mobile productivity applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, as well as OneDrive, to help keep on the go workflow a breeze.
